Edit Video Metadata
How to Filter and Edit Video Metadata in YouTube MCN
Overview
Managing large volumes of YouTube video content is easy and efficient within Revelator’s YouTube MCN module. This feature allows you to filter videos by multiple criteria — such as views, likes, duration, or visibility — and access or edit key metadata directly from the platform.
Discover underperforming videos
Ensure metadata consistency across catalogs
Maintain compliance with content standards
Prerequisites
YouTube MCN connection must be active.
Channels and their videos must already be imported.
You need edit permissions in the workspace or on the assigned channel.
How It Works: Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Navigate to the YouTube > Videos Tab
From the left-hand menu, go to YouTube under “UGC Platforms.”
Select the Videos tab to view a grid or list of imported video content.
Step 2: Apply Filters to Find Specific Content
Click the Filter icon on the top right to open advanced filters.
You can filter by:
Premiere date
Channel name
Views, Likes, Comments
Duration
Visibility (Public or Private)
Safe for Kids (Yes or No)
Categories
Use the Custom Range or All time dropdown to further narrow your video selection.
Step 3: Access the Video Details Page
Click on any video to open its detail view.
You’ll see two tabs: Overview and Metadata.
The Overview tab shows:
Engagement stats (views, likes, comments)
Premiere date
Visibility status
Category and video quality
Step 4: Edit Metadata Fields
Go to the Metadata tab to update:
Title
Description
Premiere Date
Visibility
Category
Channel Assignment
Video Quality
Make your edits and click Save to apply changes across the catalog.
Expected Outcomes
Filtered video list showing only content matching your criteria.
Accurate and standardized metadata across your catalog.
Improved content discoverability and compliance with platform standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bulk edit metadata for multiple videos? Currently, edits are made one video at a time. Bulk editing is on the roadmap.
What if my edits aren’t reflected on YouTube? Metadata updates are stored in Revelator’s catalog. Edits in Revelator do not push to YouTube directly.
Can I export filtered video lists? Export functionality is in development — for now, filtered views remain in-platform.
Can I edit videos I don’t own? Only if you have permissions or are the assigned channel owner.
