Importing DSP/Sales Reports
Overview
When your connected DSP integrations don’t cover every service you use—or if you receive custom reports in specific file formats—you can manually import these sales reports. Revelator will then parse each file’s data, match or create tracks as needed, and display the resulting revenue lines in the Finance section for further processing, matching, and payout distribution.
Prerequisites
Access to Finance: You must have the appropriate user permissions to view and manage the Finance section.
Supported File Formats: Ensure your report is in a format Revelator can parse. For example, CSV, or TXT from recognized DSPs or distributors.
Catalog Management: Ideally, you have a clean catalog with accurate metadata (ISRC codes, track titles, etc.), to minimize unmatched lines upon import.
How It Works: Step by Step Guide
1. Access the Finance Section
Navigate to Finance in the left-hand menu.
The Finance page displays any existing reports, including auto-ingested and previously uploaded files.
2. Initiate the Import
Click the Import reports (or + Import Report(s)) button, typically located in the top-right corner of the Finance page.
A dialogue or side panel appears, prompting you to upload your sales report.
3. Upload Your File
Drag and Drop: Drag your sales report file from your computer onto the upload area.
Browse: Alternatively, click a Browse or Choose File button to navigate to the file on your computer.
Confirm you’re using a supported file format (e.g., CSV, TXT).
5. Confirm Import
Click Import, Upload, or Confirm (the wording may vary) to finalize the process.
Revelator processes the file and adds the new report to your Finance list once parsing is complete.
Expected Outcomes
The newly imported file appears in the Finance list, typically with a date/timestamp of import.
Any lines that match existing catalog entries will be automatically linked. Unmatched lines will appear flagged for manual review in the report details.
