Summary
After creating and publishing a track, it’s crucial to understand how to view and analyze its metadata, credits, publishing information, and performance metrics.
This guide walks you through the track viewing interface within Revelator, highlighting key components and allows you to manage and view metadata, credits, rights, audio files, and track appearances across releases. Additionally, it provides comprehensive insights into your music's performance across various digital streaming platforms (DSPs). This guide will walk you through the different features and metrics available to help you make data-driven decisions and effectively manage your catalog.
Prerequisites
A created and published track in Revelator.
Necessary permissions to view track details and analytics.
The dashboard consists of several key sections accessible from the side menu:
Overview: Summarizes track performance and key metrics, including streams and revenue.
Metadata: Displays track information such as title, genre, language, track origin, and copyright details.
Credits: Lists the contributors, including composers, artists, and other credited roles.
Rights: Displays publishing and royalty information, including writer shares and publishing entities.
Audio Files: Displays the uploaded audio files along with file details such as format, bitrate, and ISRC.
Appears On: Lists compilations, albums, or playlists that include the track.
Analytics: Tracks performance data, including streams, revenue, and geographical distribution.
Viewing Track Information
To view a track, navigate to the Catalog > Tracks and select the desired track from the list. You will be presented with the following options:
1. Overview
The Overview tab displays a high-level summary of the track, including:
Displays a summary of Streams and Revenue trends.
Shows metadata and credits at a glance.
Track Title
Main Primary Artist
Label
Release Status
Features the option to Download Audio, copy the ID or Edit Metadata.
2. Metadata
The Metadata tab displays all of the important information of the track, including:
Track Title: The official name of the track and Version.
Language: The primary language used in the lyrics.
Track Origin: Indicates whether the track is original, a cover, or public domain.
Copyright Information: The year and entity responsible for copyright management.
Genres: Primary and secondary genre classifications.
Track Properties: Characteristics like remix, compilation, or AI involvement.
ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code) and Catalog ID.
Preview/Clip Start Time if applicable.
3. Credits
The Credits tab displays all of the credits of the track, including:
View all credited contributors, including Main Artists and Composers.
Each credit displays the contributor's name, role, and associated profiles.
4. Rights
The Rights tab displays all of the splits of the track, including:
Detailed master and publishing splits and royalty information.
Writer names, roles, Publishing Types (e.g., self-published, managed by a publisher), and share percentages.
Publisher Name and Share % of each writer.
5. Audio Files
The Audio Files tab allows downloading and playing the audio file directly.
Displays audio file formats (HD Audio, Dolby) and details, including:
File Name
Bitrate
Sample Rate
Channels
Bit Depth
File Size
6. Appears On
The Appears On tab lists albums or playlists where the track is featured.
Shows release dates and associated artists.
7. Analytics
The Analytics section provides in-depth metrics, divided into the following tabs:
View detailed metrics such as Streams, Revenue, and Consumption.
Use filters to view streams by DSP, Market, Label, or Artist.
Track performance trends over different time periods.
Explore consumption breakdowns by source, subscription type, and discovery type.
Consumption Metrics
Total Streams: Total number of streams for the track.
Selected Streams: Streams filtered by specific criteria.
Platform Breakdown: Streams by DSP, like Spotify and Apple Music.
Filters:
Exclude platforms like TikTok.
Customize date ranges and time periods.
Granularity: Daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly data.
Engagement Metrics
Skip Rate: Percentage of listeners who skipped the track.
Completion Rate: Percentage of listeners who completed the track.
Saves: How many times the track was added to libraries.
Sub30 Streams: Streams that lasted less than 30 seconds.
Trends
Tracks performance trends with visual data over time.
Top DSPs: Platforms with the most streams and revenue.
Top Countries: Geographical breakdown of listener distribution.
Top Channels: Types of content consumption like streaming or downloads.
Top Formats: Audio formats or content types consumed.
Top Releases: Albums and singles that perform best.
Revenue Metrics
Total Revenue: Earnings from streams and downloads.
Total Units: Number of downloads or sales.
Top Tracks and Releases: Highest-earning tracks and releases.
Verification / Expected Outcomes
You should see an organized and intuitive interface with distinct tabs for Metadata, Credits, Rights, Audio Files, Release Appearances, and Analytics.
Analytical data should be accurate and up-to-date based on selected filters and time ranges.
